National Aluminum Corporation of India Expects that Alumina Prices will Remain Firm in The Next Few Days

Indian National Aluminum Corporation (NALCO) said on Monday that it expects alumina prices to remain firm in the next few days.

TK Chand, chairman and general manager of the company, said in an interview with CNBC-TV 18: "Our latest shipping price is $580.5 per ton, which is $50.5/ton higher than the price on August 1, 2018. The price of alumina is at It rose by about 10% in 15 days."

Chand said: "The rise in alumina prices is mainly due to the increase in the price of bauxite in China and the strictening of environmental protection in China's aluminum smelters. At the same time, there are also cost support, as the price of caustic soda is also rising. The above two factors are pushing up prices.
